The Sydney Energy Cooperative is defined by the active participation of its members in their attempts to achieve the cooperative's aims of environmental protection through energy activities. Levels of participation may range from simply joining and supporting with membership fees to running workshops and installing solar panels on residences. By simply joining you will be helping the environment by getting the cooperative's activities up and running as soon as possible. In addition, the success of many of the cooperative's activities, such as bulk discounts on energy efficiency products, depend upon a strong membership base.

To join, please fill in the form online by clicking the link below. Membership fees are payable on completion of the form through secure online payment, bank deposit or cheque/money order.

Alternatively, the Membership Form can be downloaded and emailed, faxed or posted to Sydney Energy Cooperative, 246 Harris St Pyrmont NSW 2009.

Membership card and number will be posted and emailed shortly after receipt of form and payment.

Member Benefits
As well as supporting the cooperative, there are direct benefits available to members. Members have access to bulk purchasing of goods such as compact fluorescent lamps or solar panels. As membership grows, discounts will become available on environmental products and services at participating eco-businesses in the form of a member's benefits card. Members have the opportunity to gains hands on experience with energy projects, with paid work on energy projects available from time to time. And of course, members can realise their own projects and ideas by getting involved with the cooperative.

Membership Fees
Membership fees are $5/year concession and $15/year waged and $25/year for groups or businesses. Membership fees are used to assist in the daily running costs of the cooperative and are an important mechanism to maintaining the independence and community ownership of the cooperative. Individuals or community groups experiencing genuine financial hardship can apply for a fee waiver by contacting us directly.
